Trident(TM) LED Headlamp Introduced By Streamlight(R)

Hands-Free Flashlight Combines Krypton and LED Bulb Technology For Versatile Three-Way Lighting

(March 5, 2002) Eagleville, PA ---- Streamlight, Inc. has introduced the new Trident(TM) LED headlamp. Worn around the head for hands-free operation, the Trident offers the versatility of three-way lighting to match the diverse lighting needs of industrial professionals.

According to Streamlight President Brad Penney, the Trident is unlike any other headlamp used by industrial professionals. Equipped with a single high-intensity krypton bulb as well as three long-lasting LED bulbs, the Trident delivers a powerful, concentrated beam of light that can be adjusted for varying degrees of low-level lighting. "The light intensity of the Trident is strongest and radiates the farthest when the krypton bulb is utilized," commented Penney, "or it can be modified using one or three of the LEDs."

Activation of all three LED bulbs provides a consolidated stream of light that covers a distance comparable to most other flashlights. "Industrial professionals who require a low level of lighting for a sustained period of time will value the single LED mode for the significant battery power conserved," Penney remarked. "Combine this with the inherent longevity of LEDs, up to 100,000 hours each, and industrial users will make the Trident a popular tool for all work situations where a light is required."

In addition, the Trident offers plenty of features that further strengthen its functionality and effectiveness. Its 90-degree tilting head targets the light where it is needed most. "And, when the krypton bulb is utilized, the width of the light beam can be adjusted for spot-to-flood focus," Penney added.

The Trident operates on three AAA alkaline batteries that provide up to 150 hours of power. Ergonomically designed, the Trident features a fully adjustable elastic strap that ensures a comfortable and secure fit. The Trident is also available with a rubber strap that is recommended for industrial professionals who wear hard hats. The Trident's virtually indestructible thermoplastic casing is water resistant. Lightweight and compact, the Trident weighs less than 4 ounces and measures under 3 inches wide. The Trident headlamp retails for $34.95 (with batteries) and is backed by a one-year warranty (excludes krypton bulb and batteries).
