New Lathe Chuck Safety Shields

Rockford, IL - There are two main safety considerations for lathes (engine, turret, etc.). The first is the lathe operators' exposure to the rotating chuck; the second is hazardous flying chips and coolant splash that are generated at the point of operation. To protect operators, a lathe chuck safety shield can be applied.

Rockford Systems has the largest selection of sliding lathe shields, crosslide-travel lathe shields, small steel lathe chuck shields, large steel lathe chuck shields, and transparent lathe chuck shields.

These lathe chuck safety shields are available in fabricated steel and impact-resistant, transparent polycarbonate and extruded aluminum frames. All shields have a polycarbonate window, which permits visibility into the point of operation. Various types of mounting rods, hinges, and brackets are available for mounting the shield to the headstock of the lathe. Customized lathe shields are available for special applications.
