Laboratory Table combines stability and ergonomics.

Press Release Summary:

Engineered for maximum stability and ergonomics, CleanBench™ combines Gimbal Piston™ air vibration isolation system with compact, 2 in. thick, laminated tabletop. Design is available with or without tapped holes and offers damping, stiffness, and flatness in cleanable, stainless steel shell. For tops with hole pattern, guided thread lead-ins align screws with tapped holes; bevel shape facilitates engagement of first thread.

TMC Introduces Cleanbench(TM) with Gimbal Piston(TM) Vibration Isolation

Tabletop Design Offers Greater Stability, Especially For Small Laboratory Tables

Peabody, MA — TMC, an industry leader in high-performance vibration and motion cancellation technology, has introduced CleanBench™, the next generation of the company’s laboratory tables. CleanBench combines TMC’s superior Gimbal Piston™ air vibration isolation system with a new tabletop design (patent pending) that provides more stability and better ergonomics in a compact design.

“Our proprietary 2-inch-thick, laminated top construction is the ideal table top for small, desk-style vibration isolation tables and works well for users who do not require a grid of tapped holes,” states Steve Ryan, Divisional Vice President, TMC. “Users who need tapped holes to bolt down their payload or positioning equipment have had to settle for a scaled-down, 4-inch-thick, steel honeycomb optical top construction.

“Though these larger tops provide a grid of holes, they are bulky, raise the center-of-mass of the payload reducing stability, and are less ergonomic for the seated user. CleanBench optimizes ergonomics for the seated user by minimizing the thickness of the table top while providing greater stability, especially for small size tables,” he adds.

The low-profile, high-density CleanBench tops offer superior damping, stiffness, and flatness in an easy-to-clean stainless steel shell and are available with or without tapped holes. For those tops with the hole pattern, guided thread lead-ins align screws with the tapped holes. The “bevel” shape eases engagement of the first thread.

All CleanBench laboratory tables incorporate TMC’s Gimbal Piston air isolators, which provide outstanding low frequency vibration isolation in all axes and maintain the isolators’ performance specifications even when subjected to extremely low input levels of excitation.

The company’s industry-standard vibration isolation laboratory tables are ideal for a wide variety of applications, including atomic force and confocal microscopy, in-vitro-fertilization, patch-clamping, interferometry, and metrology.
