IR Thermometer has 14 mm dia x 28 mm long sensing head.

Press Release Summary:

Facilitating temperature measurement in confined areas, model PSC-CMS-3M has 122 to 1,112°F temperature span, 2.3 µm spectral response, and target spot sizes down to 1 mm. IR sensor can measure through viewport windows such as quartz, Pyrex, glass, and sapphire, and stainless steel IR sensing head withstands ambient temperatures of up to 185°F without cooling. Functionality provided by embedded PCB within sensor head cable include scalable analog outputs of 0–1, 0–5, 0–10 Vdc, and alarm.

PSC IR Thermometer "Compact Micro Sensor" Combines Advanced Technology with Ultra-Compact Design

Franklin Lakes, NJ – Downsizing infrared thermometers usually involves sacrificing features and performance.  Process Sensors’ just released model PSC-CMS-3M sets a new standard in its uncompromising sophistication and capability.  The sensing head, which is only 14 mm in diameter by 28 mm in length, facilitates temperature measurement in tightly confined areas often found in scientific and medical equipment, semiconductor tools, industrial processes and OEM equipment manufacturing.

Process Sensors IR Sales Manager, Scott Nagle, states: "The low cost and compact PSC-CMS-3M delivers all the functionality of more expensive IR temperature sensors in a small package with an outstanding price/performance ratio!  This value driven but fully functional, micro sized sensor is packed with features that make it the perfect choice for custom application requirements."

A wide overall temperature span of 50° to 600°C (122° to 1112°F), a narrow spectral response of 2.3µm, and target spot sizes down to 1mm, depending on the model, particularly suit the sensor to secondary metal processing, and the measurement of oxides and ceramic materials.  The IR sensor can measure through viewport windows such as quartz, Pyrex, glass and sapphire. Additionally the stainless steel IR sensing head is able to withstand ambient temperatures of up to 85ºC (185°F) without cooling.

A wide variety of functionality provided by the embedded PC board within the sensor head cable include: scalable analog outputs of 0-1, 0-5, 0-10VDC and alarm.  Programmable parameters include emissivity and transmissivity adjustments, peak and valley hold, averaging, and extended hold with threshold and hysteresis.  Process Sensors Corp’s “PSC Connect Software” with USB connection supports sensor set-up, multi-tasking, graphic display of temperature trends and data logging, and basically allows the user to customize the sensor to the application.  Detailed specification information can be found at www.processsensorsIR.com
