Next-Generation IP Access Solution Combines High-Bandwidth FTTx Service Capabilities with Wire-Speed, Multi-Gigabit Optical Aggregation and Transport
ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 10 /- TelcoTV 09, Booth # 825 -- Allied Telesis Inc., a global provider of secure IP/Ethernet switching solutions and an industry leader in the deployment of IP Triple-Play networks, today introduced the iMAP 9810 (Intelligent Multiservice Access Platform), the latest addition in the Company's family of IP/Ethernet aggregation and IP access solutions. The enhanced platform incorporates the proven multi-service, carrier-grade performance that service providers expect from Allied Telesis, with high-capacity switching and wire-speed line card interfaces with optical aggregation and transport capabilities for Fiber-to-the-Home/Premise/Node (FTTx) services and advanced Triple-Play (voice, video, data) applications. The iMAP 9810 will be demonstrated at TelcoTV 09 in Orlando, Florida, November 10 - 12, 2009, at the Allied Telesis booth # 825.
With the introduction of the iMAP 9810, Allied Telesis addresses service providers' needs to provide ultra-high-speed FTTx services without the risk of blocking, as well as utilizing the switching capacity for access aggregation and transport in the "mid-mile." As with the rest of the iMAP family, the 9810 is an IP/Ethernet networking solution supporting IP services simultaneously over copper and fiber infrastructures, simplifying the move from traditional copper wiring to next-generation fiber-optic cabling - as well as extending 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) and 10 Gbps fiber closer to the subscriber.
As a multi-service access platform, the iMAP 9810 supports multiple port types, including 1 Gbps, Active Ethernet, and EPON FTTx from any of its eight service slots; enabling service providers the opportunity to service multiple customers with lower capital expenditures. The iMAP 9810 can also support copper-based services, including ADSL2+ and VDSL2, using the same service modules across the entire iMAP family. As a mid-mile transport device, the iMAP 9810 can be provisioned with either eight-port Gigabit Ethernet or six-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet modules to aggregate feeds from subtending IP access equipment in the network.

The iMAP 9810 has the same operating system as all of the iMAP family, and uses the same unified management platform, AlliedView(TM), making transition easy for customers already deploying iMAP in their networks.
Allied Telesis will have a working demo of IPTV with HDTV, and a whole home DVR application over Active Ethernet, using the iMAP 9810 platform at TelcoTV 09. The demo will feature the recently released iMG 7x6 MOD outdoor fiber home gateway with HPNAv3 to showcase a real-world solution that can be deployed today by service providers.
