New High Density Intrinsic Safety Isolators from Pepperl+Fuchs Provide Unrivaled Signal Density in 30% Smaller Package



TWINSBURG, OH - Pepperl+Fuchs introduces the HiC family of Intrinsic Safety Isolators (HiC). HiC modules are Pepperl+Fuchs' latest addition to the H-System family of motherboard-mounted intrinsic safety isolators. Just 12.5 mm wide, HiC modules provide single loop integrity and can reduce cabinet space requirements by more than 30%. Additionally, extremely low 0.8 W power dissipation keeps cabinets cooler while increasing module life and system reliability.

If that were not enough, HiC modules provide all of the same features and operational quality as Pepperl+Fuchs' existing HiD 18mm wide devices, at no additional cost to the user," says Robert Schosker, Product Manager.

HiC modules provide a single channel of isolated power and an ultra-thin housing for highly reliable industrial signal transmission and system availability. They are also very service-friendly, as interface circuit boards are equipped with connectors and circuitry that replicate the hardware used in a fully engineered solution for a Distributed Control System (DCS). Modules are quickly and easily fastened onto 8 or 16 slot termination boards without the need for tools or wiring. A robust terminal system ensures that the channels are reliably connected.

Systems are easily expanded with a HART Communication Board and Fault Indication Board. The Termination Boards have HART access, allowing users to diagnose and remotely access field devices at any time through the HART Communication Board. The Fault Indication Board allows for collective error messaging.
