The popular ETS InstaSnake™ Balun InstaSnake Audio Panel(SDS907) is now available in a newly designed format for Broadway Theaters. The InstaSnake Audio Panel comes equipped with MXLRs (SDS907) and FXLRs (SDS908).
The 2 rack-unit high InstaSnake Audio Panel has (8) EtherCon RJ45 jacks on the front with (32) XLR connectors on the back. This unit is passive (you do not need external power) and allows you to transmit audio signals over UTP cables (Category5 or better data cables). These panels have been designed to accept 'mic' level or line level analog or digital audio signals. Phantom power is supported when using shielded UTP cables. Units are factory tested to 1900 feet over Category5 cable using balanced line low impedance dynamic microphones. Phantom power is tested to 850 feet over shielded UTP cables.
Designed to the highest professional standard, the InstaSnake panel has wide flat frequency response, and low THD and residual noise.
As Sound Designer, Shannon Slaton says, "They work. Plug them in and you have no worries. Installation and testing are a snap, plus the orchestra pit is tidy. Set-up and dismantling are quick and easy. By using Cat5 or better cable, the installation is lightweight."
