Raytheon Insider-Threat Solution Now Features File Discovery and Registry Monitoring

SALT LAKE CITY, -- Raytheon Company (NYSE:RTN) released SureView(TM) 6.4, a host-based insider-threat protection and risk-management solution that proactively identifies and supports investigations of user violations.

The sixth-generation Raytheon SureView is used by several Fortune 500 organizations, as well as major government agencies, including the Defense Information Systems Agency. Earlier this year, DISA selected Raytheon's insider threat management solution as the Insider Threat Focused Observation Tool for the Department of Defense.

SureView 6.4 improves enterprise security with these enhancements:

-- File discovery: In addition to its ability to monitor all user interactions with data, SureView now is also capable of scanning workstations to find stored data of interest. This capability supports the full range of analytics provided by SureView, allowing precisely targeted policies to identify any type of sensitive information: personal protected information, intellectual property, customer contact information and more. Data scans can be configured to search part or all of a workstation's data storage and can be scheduled by time or based on user logon. They will not interfere with normal user activities on a workstation.

-- Registry monitoring: SureView can now scan and monitor the Microsoft Windows® Registry to many events of interest, such as infection by malware and unauthorized software installation.

-- Windows 7 support: SureView now supports Windows 7.

-- Updated server hardware: The SureView appliance now runs on the Dell R610 server for better performance.

"The registry monitoring feature is a huge benefit for customers," said Steve Hawkins, vice president of Information Security Solutions at Raytheon. "With it, SureView can now monitor malware through the registry. SureView makes it possible to quickly react to the discovery of a new malware threat by querying all the machines on your network for a specific registry entry. Raytheon remains committed to providing organizations with the best insider threat protection."

Raytheon's SureView captures any breach, policy violation, compliance incident or malicious act and replays the event in a digital video recorder-like format. The full context and user intent are clearly presented for immediate and informed action while respecting employee privacy guidelines. This technology enables users to go beyond disk forensics and mitigate the full range of risks by knowing exactly what targeted subjects are doing on their computers.
