Industrial Vehicles have regenerative braking.

Press Release Summary:

Titan vehicles have programmable controller for variable forward, reverse, drive and brake control, and regenerative braking. Five models are available with capacities up to 5,000 lb. Performance characteristics can be programmed by end-user or set at factory. Controller and motor provide consistent climb and descent, and eliminate vehicle run-away going down hill. Vehicles have full-bridge field and half-bridge armature power MOSFET design.

CUSHMAN UNVEILS PROGRAMMABLE TITAN VEHICLES

New Vehicles feature Programmable Controller and Regenerative Braking

AUGUSTA, GA - Cushman Textron, the world's leading manufacturer of industrial vehicles, announced their Titan industrial vehicles now feature a Programmable Electronic Controller and Regenerative Braking. The Titan series features five models with payload capacities up to 5,000 pounds.

New features on the Titan include:

o Full-Bridge field and half-bridge armature power MOSFET design, providing

o Infinitely variable forward, reverse, drive and brake control

o Silent high frequency operation

o High efficiency

* Regenerative braking, providing longer operation on a single battery charge and reducing motor brush wear and motor heating

* Programmability through the handheld programmer

* Complete diagnostics through the programmer and an internal Status LED

* Automatic braking when throttle is reduced from either direction.

* Deceleration Rate, Load Compensation, and Restraint features prevent downhill runaway conditions; speed is controlled to within approximately 20% of level surface value

* Meet or exceeds EEC fault detect requirements

* Vehicle top speed is controlled and limited in each mode

* High pedal disable (HPD) and static return to off (SRO) interlocks prevent vehicle runaway at startup

* Continuous diagnostics during operation, with microprocessor power-on self-test

The Titan's performance characteristics can be programmed by the end-user or set at the factory level. The new controller and motor provide benefits such as consistent climb and decent feature, elimination of vehicle run-away in down hill applications, regenerative power, reduced brake wear, smooth operation, reduced motor brush wear and Static Return to Off (SRO).

The Cushman Titan is also available as an "EE" rated vehicle. These "EE" rated Titans will be listed in the Factory Mutual directory.

Electric-battery powered trucks of Type "EE" construction are provided with fire protection safeguards which permit their use in many hazardous locations as classified in Article 500 of the National Electrical Code® and Section 32 of the Canadian Electrical Code.
