Hazlux® Induction Lighting Fixtures Now Deliver 66 Percent Longer Lamp Life

Thomas & Betts Product Now Features Fulham®* Induction Electronic Ballasts and Lamps

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Hazlux® Induction Lighting Fixtures from Thomas & Betts now are equipped with Fulham®* induction electronic ballast and lamps, which deliver more than 100,000 hours of white light, an increase in service life of 66 percent.

“In typical industrial applications, reliable lighting is often required in hazardous, hard-to-reach places,” said Chad Smith, director, product management at Thomas & Betts. “Lamp replacement not only places employees at risk, but often requires the rental of expensive equipment, such as scissor lifts or scaffolds. The Hazlux® Induction Lighting Fixtures retrofit into existing area lighting applications, and can save resources by eliminating the need for expensive high-intensity discharge (HID) options, such as quartz auxiliary lamps or instant re-strike.”

Additionally, an extreme cold-weather option is available, which will allow users to re-strike the induction fixture at minus 58 F (minus 50 C) and operate the fixture in temperatures as low as minus 85 F (minus 65 C).

Hazlux® Induction Lighting Fixtures are suitable for use in Class 1, Zone 2, Groups IIA, IIB, IIC, Exn R II T3 (restricted breathing), Div. 2 Groups A, B, C, D areas. They are also rated for explosion-proof areas, Class I, Div. 1, Groups C, D and Class II, Div. 1 and 2, Groups E, F, G. The lamps produce a warm, white light and offer exceptional energy efficiency. Operating range is from minus 65 F (minus 54 C) to 104 F (40 C).
