In-Line Pumps suit building services applications.

Press Release Summary:

Comprising 22 pump sizes, Etaline pumps meet ErP Directive requirements and feature CFD-optimized hydraulic shape for suction elbow, volute casing, and impellers. Max motor rating is 55 kW, max flow rate is 700 m³/hr, max discharge head is 95 m, and max operating temperature is 140°C. Nodular cast iron casing and mechanical seals accommodate operating pressures to 16 bar, while flanges of suction and discharge nozzles are optionally drilled to EN 1092 or ASME dimensions for all materials.

Original Press Release:

New Powerful In-Line Pumps for Building Services Applications

KSB Aktiengesellschaft, Frankenthal, will première its latest version of Etaline in-line pumps at this year's SHK Essen and IFH Nuremberg trade fairs.

Energy-efficiency was the development engineers' number one focus. They worked intensively with CFD (computational fluid dynamics) for flow simulation to optimise the hydraulic shape of suction elbow, volute casing and impellers. All pump sets now meet the requirements of the ErP Directive, effective as from 2015, and their suction characteristics exceed those of the previous pump generation.

The new Etaline type series comprises 22 pump sizes and its maximum motor rating is 55 kW. The maximum flow rate is 700 cubic metres per hour with the maximum discharge head possible being 95 metres.

The nodular cast iron casing and the mechanical seals are designed for operating pressures of up to 16 bar. The flanges of suction and discharge nozzles are optionally drilled to EN 1092 or ASME dimensions, for all materials. The impellers are available in grey cast iron JL1040, tin bronze CC480K-GS or stainless steel 1.4408, depending on the application they will be used for.

Mechanical seals to EN 12756 are standard with a large number of material variants to choose from. The maximum operating temperature equals 140 degrees Celsius. The conical design of the seal chamber allows easy access and provides more space for maintenance work.

Each pump is delivered with an impeller whose diameter has been matched to its duty point. This ensures that the pumps operate at their best efficiency point and are not oversized, as is usually the case with ready-made impellers.

Customers can select IE2, IE3 and IE4 electric motors as drives. Replaceable casing wear rings on the discharge and suction sides make for ease of service and maintenance, even after many years of operation. Up to a motor rating of 45 kW, motor-mounted PumpDrive speed control systems can be supplied optionally.
