Littelfuse Expands IGBT Power Control Semiconductor Line to Include Modules Rated Up to 1700V and 450A

Standard and customized solutions available to meet demanding requirements

CHICAGO — Littelfuse, Inc., the global leader in circuit protection, has expanded its line of IGBT Module Power Semiconductor products designed for motor control and inverter applications. IGBT Power Modules are available in a broader range of package designs, now including half-bridge, six-pack, and PIM modules in S, D, H, W, and WB packages, with ratings up to 1700V and 450A. These modules offer the high efficiency and fast switching speeds of modern IGBT technology in a robust and flexible format. In addition to the standard designs, Littelfuse can provide customized solutions to meet clients’ exact specifications. These modules will find many power applications in industrial electronics, including in industrial drives and motion control, solar invertors, UPSs/switched mode power supplies, and welding machines.

“These IGBT modules are ideal for creating flexible and efficient motor control and inverter applications,” said Richard Bono, Power Semiconductor Business Development Manager. “They are well-suited for use in industrial electronics like industrial drives and motion control hardware, solar inverters, uninterruptible power supplies, switched mode power supplies and welding machines.”

IGBT Module Power Semiconductors offer these key benefits:

Ultra-low loss ensures high efficiency and switching speed.

High ruggedness provides high reliability in demanding applications.

High short circuit capability reduces protection requirements.

Positive temperature coefficient devices can be paralleled easily to increase current handling capability.

Fast free-wheeling diodes, providing an integrated solution in a compact module package.

“The expansion of the Littelfuse IGBT Power Module portfolio to include 1200V six-pack and PIM modules provides our customers additional design flexibility in 3-phase inverter applications by integrating the rectifier and IGBT switch sections into a single industry-standard  package, “ said Richard Bono, power semiconductor business development manager. “Likewise, the addition of a 1700V half-bridge module portfolio extends the use of Littelfuse IGBT power modules into more demanding industrial applications.”
