FCI's Pwr TwinBlade(TM) I/O Connector System Supports High Power Demands
ETTERS, PA (January 29, 2007) - FCI, a leading developer of connectors and interconnect systems has expanded its line of power I/O solutions with the development of the Pwr TwinBlade(TM) connector system. Designed for cabling applications in equipment with high power demands like wireless base stations, aDSL and vDSL equipment, servers, and storage devices, the Pwr TwinBlade(TM) system provides current-carrying capacity of up to 50A per contact.
"The Pwr TwinBlade I/O connector system is a great example of how connectors can provide ultimate design flexibility," said Scott Kleinle, Global Power Solutions Manager for FCI. "With right-angle or straight cable exit options, four connector coding options, and support for 6 AWG or 10 AWG wire sizes, engineers are able to configure the connector system to fit their unique spatial constraints and power requirements."
The Pwr TwinBlade system features a "touch-proof" design and is polarized to assure proper orientation during connector engagement. Cable ends incorporate an active latching system for secure retention to the board-mounted connector that the user can simply "squeeze-to-release" for easy removal. The right-angle, board-mount connector enables use in front I/O applications.
