CHESTERLAND, OHIO - July 2008 - The new Quik-Lighter(TM) hot-wire ignition system, from Channel Products Inc., operates in challenging ignition applications and reduces design obstacles. Using a proprietary heating element, the new ignition system is resistant to contamination, humidity and rough handling, which can interfere with hot-surface element and high voltage spark ignition systems. A protective oxidation layer around the system's coil enables no-fail igniting, while spark electrodes can corrode and hot-surface ignition system elements may break with continued use. The Quik-Lighter hot-wire ignition system has the flexibility to allow direct application replacement of existing hot-surface elements and high-voltage spark electrodes. The hot-wire ignition system provides fast ignition times on both natural gas and propane, with short warm-up times.
