High-Flow Back Pressure Valves prevent hysteresis, other errors.

Press Release Summary:

Employing frictionless diaphragm as its only moving part, HV Series instantly reacts to changes in system flow to keep pressure stable and at set point. Applications average around 1 psi, and max working pressure is 15 psig in standard model. Valves are pilot operated, and pilot pressure can be applied with manually adjusted mechanical or electronic pressure regulator. Along with choice of body and diaphragm materials, several port sizes and connection options are available.

Equilibar's HV Series Focuses on High Flow Rates and Small Pressure Differentials

Novel Design Prevents Hysteresis and Other Errors

Fletcher, NC--Equilibar announces the HV Series of high flow back pressure valves for applications with high flow rates and small differential pressure requirements. HV regulators instantly react to changes in system flow to keep pressure stable and at set point.

Vapor recovery systems, tank blanketing, fractional distillation, membrane separation, and membrane filtration are among the types of applications that have shown improved pressure control by using HV regulators.

These novel regulators offer several advantages compared to traditional regulator designs.  A diaphragm is the only moving part.  Since the diaphragm is frictionless, it does not result in hysteresis and other errors found in traditional pressure regulator designs.  This enables HV regulators to accurately control extremely low pressures even as the system flow rate varies from low flow to very high flow.  Typical applications average around the 1psi mark.  The maximum working pressure is 15psig in the standard model with higher pressures available in custom designs.

HV regulators are pilot operated.  The pressure signal applied to the pilot port commands the HV to control its inlet port to that same pressure.  This signal to controlled pressure is a precise 1:1 relationship. The pilot pressure can be applied with a manually adjusted mechanical pressure regulator or with an electronic pressure regulator if automation of pressure control is required.

The elegance of the HV design lends itself to a wide selection of body and diaphragm materials to exactly match the temperature or chemical compatibility requirements of a specific application.  Body material choices include 304L or 316L stainless steel.  Readily available diaphragm materials include PTFE, Viton, Buna-N, EPDM, HDPE, PEEK, and stainless steel thin films.

The HV is a high flow back pressure regulator and is available in port sizes of 2, 4, 6, and 8 inches (DN50 to DN200).  Port connection options include NPT threads, weld tube stubs, BSPP threads, DN flanges, and ANSI/ASME flanges.

Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Equilibar Precision Pressure Control provides custom solutions for the most demanding pressure control applications worldwide.  Equilibar engineers focus on rapid customer response, technical excellence and a creative, collaborative approach.
