Original Press Release:

Introducing Struthers-Dunn's New Line of Heavy Duty Power Relays - 450 Series

Struthers-Dunn is excited to provide an updated and innovative design of the Industry Standard Power Relay with our New 450 Series - now more versatile with options to meet today’s requirements. Enhanced features include the DIN Rail mountable base and the Snap-on clear cover.

The DIN rail mounting is molded into the base and the same base can also be panel mounted as the old industry standard models with the same standard hole locations.

The protective cover serves several purposes:

  • Snaps on and can be easily removed in tight locations if necessary.

  • Provides a clear view of the relay to check its operation.

  • Keeps dirt and dust from easily falling into the relay causing premature failures.

  • Protects fingers from accidentally coming in contact with power terminals on the relay.

Standard 450 Features:

  • UL Recognized and UL Listed with CSA 14 under the new UL Standard 60947-1 (UL 508) for 40 Amp and 50 Amp applications!

  • Fully RoHS and REACH compliant – with no exemptions claimed.

  • Industry Standard Base and hole locations for Panel Mount and DIN Rail mountable Base.

  • Class F insulation system – for rugged use in harsh environments.

The 450 Series comes with standard options such as:

  • Full range of coil voltages: 6 – 480 VAC and 6 – 250 VDC

  • Full range of Contact combinations – See Data sheet for Nomenclature System

  • Blowout Magnet - For use between contacts when using load voltages over 45VDC

  • 10 Amp Auxiliary switches - to connect sensor logic or indicators to a panel to detect relay operation or trigger other functions.

  • QC terminals – to facilitate quick connect terminals for speed in wiring.

New to this style of Power Relays the 450 Series has additional Options:

  • LED indicator – to quickly verify power to the coil,
