Heated Variable Path Length Cell suits FTIR spectroscopy.

Press Release Summary:

Able to be heated to 200°C, Variable Path Length Cell features programmable ramp and soak temperature controller with RS-232 serial cable computer interface. Cell back plate is water-cooled and body is insulated as is vernier scale adjustment on front of cell. Path length may be continuously adjusted from 0.05-5 mm and reproduced within 0.001 mm. In addition, cell may be adjusted to provide precise intensity for exact location of both weak and strong bands.

Original Press Release:

New Heated Variable Path Length FTIR Sealed Liquid Cell

ICL celebrates its 50th anniversary as a supplier of accessories and optics for FTIR spectroscopy with the introduction of its new heated variable path length cell at Pittcon 2012. Heated variable path length cells have not heretofore been available for FTIR spectroscopy. The cell can be heated to 200° C and comes complete with a programmable ramp and soak temperature controller with RS-232 serial cable computer interface. The cell back plate is water cooled and the body is insulated as is the vernier scale adjustment on the front of the cell to enable in-situ variation of pathlength while the cell is situated in the sample compartment of an FTIR spectrophotometer. The path length may be continuously adjusted from 0.05mm to 5mm and reproduced within 0.001mm (1 micrometer). In order for weaker absorption bands of many liquids to appear with the proper intensity, the stronger bands will be totally absorbed and their exact location thus obscured. The Variable Pathlength Cell may be precisely adjusted to provide just the right intensity for exact location of both weak and strong bands. www.internationalcrystal.net
