New Heat Pump from Ducane is Durable, Flexible, and Easy to Install
(BLACKVILLE, SC, January 28, 2003) -- The new SH10B heat pump from Ducane provides worry-free comfort, flexibility, and economical installation.
This heat pump, which has a 10 SEER cooling efficiency, two to five ton cooling capacity, and up to 7.00 HSPF, cools and heats quietly. Its Copeland Compliant scroll compressor has fewer moving parts for quiet operation, and an insulated cabinet delivers superior sound control. Additionally, its vertical air discharge sends hot air and sound upward, protecting shrubs and quiet neighborhoods.
It has several features that provide worry-free operation too, including an evaporator coil that enhances indoor air quality through an anti-microbial coating that resists the growth of bacteria and fungi. Permanently lubricated motors need no annual
maintenance, and galvanized steel base rails provide strength and corrosion protection. The scroll compressor is safeguarded by internal pressure relief valves, inherent thermal
protection, and a factory-installed low pressure switch. The durable top sheds water and locks out weather. Ducane backs this heat pump with a five-year warranty on the compressor and a five-year warranty on components.
The SH10B is designed with easy service in mind. Its coil, compressor, and reversing valve are located behind easily removable panels and the indoor air blower is mounted on slides for easy access. Electrical components are located high in the cabinet, behind a single removable side panel for protection and easy access. The optional field-installed electric auxiliary heat allows custom heat selection for individual applications
and preserves flexibility for heat pump-only applications in warmer climates. All models feature field proven adjustable time/temperature defrost controls. Additionally, the four
and five ton models are convertible to downshot for rooftop applications.
This new heat pump is built for economical installation in residential, manufactured housing, or light commercial applications. The compact design makes it easy to maneuver and place on job sites. Side-by-side duct connections are placed low to the ground to match up to existing ductwork and readily accept square or round duct connections. All models feature galvanized steel base rails for easy lifting and installation. Three speed taps on the indoor blower allow the installer to easily fine-tune comfort levels.
