Toshiba Imaging Introduces Full-HD 3CMOS 1080p Camera - Rated for Medical Applications



• New IK-HD5UM HD video camera meets IEC 60601-1 Medical Design Standards, 3rd edition, requirements for medical and surgical imaging



IRVINE, CA – Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc.’s Imaging Systems Division (www.toshibacameras.com) introduces the latest product in the full-HD video camera family, the IK-HD5UM. The new camera is rated for medical use, meeting the IEC 60601-1 Medical Design Standards (3rd edition) requirements for medical and surgical imaging applications. The 3-CMOS high-definition video camera features a 1920 x 1080 pixel format with both DVI-D and USB3.0 outputs.  It is adapted for use in in surgical microscopy, surgical light camera integration, or surgical room monitoring and surveillance, and other non-patient contact and non-diagnostic imaging applications. Toshiba Imaging will premiere the new camera in booth #2190 Hall D at MD&M West, Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, CA, Feb. 9 - 11, 2016.



The IK-HD5UM utilizes Toshiba Imaging’s proprietary 3-chip prism block technology to provide unmatched performance, excellent sensitivity and color reproduction in real-time HD video. Other features include C-mount lens mount, remote control via RS232, switchable formats between 1080p and 1080i, up to 1,000 TV lines resolution, 5 user-configurable scene files, and a binning mode for a 4x increase in sensitivity.  Improved sensitivity in the near infrared spectrum supports imaging applications that use fluorescing agents, such as ICG. The easily adaptable camera provides fine detail, rich contrast, and high def resolution for reference imagery use in education, surgical microscopy, documentation, and in-room surgical staff meetings.
