Hard Thermoplastic Polyurethane offers enhanced extrudability.

Press Release Summary:

Targeting tubing manufacturers, hard thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is formulated for facilitated extrudability. Product enables thinner wall for tubing, which reduces material requirements, while also promoting productivity and efficiency. Affording processors and OEMs additional design options, TPUs range in Shore hardness from 50D to 74D and improve extrusion output without loss of melt viscosity or crystallization in die or on screw.

APS Elastomers Offers TPUs with Improved Extrudability

Romulus, MI -- APS Elastomers has developed a hard thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) that is easier to extrude. The new series of TPUs offers the extrudability of softer grades providing tubing manufacturers the advantages of hard TPUs without their production drawbacks. "The specially formulated TPU enables a thinner wall for tubing, which requires less material; allowing significant cost savings for tubing manufacturers," says Stephane Morin, owner of APS Elastomers. The ability to use harder grades of TPUs allows increased productivity and cost efficiency; affording processors and OEMs additional design options. Additionally, the TPUs offer higher burst pressures while retaining the advantages of softer TPUs. Ranging in Shore hardness from 50D to 74D, the TPU improves extrusion output without loss of melt viscosity or crystallization in the die or on the screw.

APS Elastomers is committed to providing in-depth and high level customer and technical service, problem-solving, product development and support to designers, OEMs and processors; building relationships based on knowledge, trust and experience.  APS Elastomers also provides expedited shipment and full laboratory services.
