Gas Analyzer measures trace amounts of nitrogen in argon.

Press Release Summary:

Series 1200 uses detection based on spectral emission of argon plasma, with signal gain and noise rejection resulting in sensitivity of 10 ppb for nitrogen. With no valves, carrier gas, or radioactive source, analyzer is maintenance-free and features on-line, continuous trending of N2 concentration. It also provides over-range protection, non-depleting cell, and electro-optical modulation. Model 1200-A covers 0-2/0-20 ppm, while Model 1200-B covers 0-20/0-200 ppm.

Series 1200 Trace N2 in Argon Gas Analyzer

GOW-MAC® Instrument Company introduces their newest process instrument, the Series 1200 Analyzer. The gas analyzer measures trace amounts of nitrogen in argon. Two models cover different analytical ranges: Model 1200-A covers 0-2/0-20 ppm; Model 1200-B covers 0-20/0-200 ppm. Detection is based on spectral emission of argon plasma. High signal gain and improved noise rejection, gives the Series 1200 the guaranteed sensitivity of 10 parts-per-billion (ppb) for nitrogen.

The Series 1200 is designed as a rugged, low cost, low maintenance, simple to operate analyzer. There are no valves, carrier gas, or radioactive source. The analyzer is maintenance-free. Other features include on-line, continuous trending of nitrogen concentration with no need for sample injection or separation columns; Exposure to atmosphere or high impurity concentrations does not result in damage to the analytical cell; rapid recovery is enhanced by the unique detector design; Over-range protection eliminates possibility of false readings caused by high impurity plasma quenching; A non-depleting cell for extended operation provides long life and is maintenance free; Patented electro-optical modulation eliminates unwanted noise and drift, generating a modulated signal without the use of a mechanical chopper.

Relevant applications include air separation plants, argon purification plants, cryogenic truck loading stations, specialty gas laboratories, process control, new line certification, cryogenic steel manufacturing, chemical plants, gas management/monitoring systems, quality control for truck fills & gas cylinders, welding gas management, semiconductor manufacturing, and many more.
