New Thomas & Betts Floor Box Fits 6-inch Holes in Commercial Buildings
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Steel City® FFPT6 furniture-feed poke-through floor box is designed to fit 6-inch holes at the second floor and above in commercial buildings, providing maximized capacity for power and communications wiring when feeding modular furniture.
“There is a limit to the number of penetrations that can be drilled in the floor of a commercial building,” Ralph Donati, product marketing director at T&B, said. “The builder must make the most of each hole drilled in the floor, especially if there is a large number of desks and work stations to wire for phones, computers and other equipment. The Steel City FFPT6 furniture-feed poke-through floor box provides a high capacity for electrical and electronic wiring in a single-core drill location.”
The Steel City FFPT6 furniture-feed poke-through floor box has a ¾-inch hub for power wiring and 1 ¼-inch and 2-inch hubs for communications cabling, including plugs. The core drill size is 6 inches and the integral junction box has 27-cubic-inch capacity, with five ½-inch and five ¾-inch knockouts. Covers are available in solid brass, brushed aluminum or black finish. It is rated for the UL® 263 two-hour fire test.
