Adhesives Research, Inc. Promotes Line of
Pressure-Sensitive Foam Tapes for the Glass, Window and Door
Industries at interGLASSmetallFenestration World 2001

GLEN ROCK, Pa. (October 16, 2001) - Adhesives Research, Inc., a world leader in the development and manufacture of high-performance, specialty pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs), offers a wide variety of ARclad® tape products for use in the glass, window and door industries. Adhesives Research, Inc. will showcase its line of ARclad® pressure-sensitive foam glazing tapes and muntin mounting tapes in booth #2239, November 7-9, 2001 in New Orleans at the interGLASSmetal/Fenestration World 2001 trade show.

Applications for ARclad® pressure-sensitive foam glazing tapes include sealing glass in wood, vinyl, aluminum and plastic framing systems. ARclad® glazing tapes offer superior cold flex, good sealing characteristics and cyclic shock resistance. Demonstrating extremely consistent performance, these pressure-sensitive tapes also offer many advantages in production over liquid sealants. These tapes require no cure time, are easily applied and adhere quickly and strongly without oozing, requiring no cleanup.

Adhesives Research's ARclad® 2000 series of glazing tapes offers exceptionally high shear and internal strength, greatly reducing the potential for movement of the adhesive and glass during production and post-production of windows.

The ARclad® 3000 series is Adhesives Research's acrylic glazing line for vinyl applications. Both of these tape series are also AAMA-certified for cellular foam glazing, Type I.

ARclad® 8231, part of the ARclad® 8000 product series, is a double-faced glazing tape that delivers permanent anchorage to foam with ultimate bonding to both the sash material and glass. It provides manufacturers with advanced performance capabilities that compensate for thermal expansion and pressure differentials. The ARclad® 8000 series is AAMA-certified for cellular foam glazing, Type I.

ARclad® pressure-sensitive foam muntin mounting tapes offer a solvent-free way to adhere muntin grills to wood, painted aluminum and unplasticized vinyl for simulated, divided light windows and doors. The double-sided tapes are manufactured to a consistent thickness and incorporate a unique UV-resistant polymer. Combined with reliable adhesion to wood, aluminum, vinyl and glass, ARclad® munting mounting tapes provide a reliable application that can save manufacturers and installers time and money.

Available in white, black or gray foam with paper or polyethylene release liners, the ARclad® muntin mounting tapes are resistant to common household cleaning products and designed for reliable, lasting use in window and door applications.
