Product News: Welding Equipment & Supplies
Flux Cored Electrode is suited for low-temperature welding.
Press Release Summary:
January 8, 2007 - Formulated for welding certain HSLA steels, Select 85-Ni3 gas-shielded wire produces weld deposit that contains 3.5% nickel to promote low-temperature toughness. Arc transfer is globular, and bead profile is convex. Low alloy steel electrode, available in .045 and 1/16 in. dia, is designed to weld 3% nickel steels that require postweld stress relief and min 80,000 psi tensile strength. Basic slag system produces minimal diffusible hydrogen levels.

New Flux Cored Electrode for Low Temperature Welding
Press release date: January 3, 2007
Select 85-Ni3 features a basic slag system which provides excellent low temperature strength and low diffusible hydrogen levels. Due to the nature of a basic slag, the arc transfer is globular and the bead profile is convex. This electrode is available in .045" and 1/16" diameters.
Select 85-Ni3 is designed to weld 3% nickel steels that require a postweld stress relief, a minimum of 80,000 psi tensile strength and exceptional low temperature performance. Typical applications for welding with Select 85-Ni3 include shipbuilding and tanks used for gas storage.
