All-PTFE Flange Guard Allows Visual Detection of Leakage Throughout


A new flexible flange guard made entirely of PTFE allows visual detection of leakage across the entire flange or expansion joint to the pipe. The LFP Spray Shield deflects harmful spray-out if leakage occurs at the flange or expansion joint. In a translucent continuous one-piece design, the LFP Spray Shield avoids typical sewed seams that can become tear lines when hit with the force of fluid impingement. In addition, the one-piece design allows full visual detection of leakage across the entire shield, allowing for inspection around the bolts and pipe.

Since the LFP Spray Shield is all-PTFE, the product will not be degraded by chemical exposure or challenging industrial environments. This will ensure that in the event of a leakage, complete strength of the material will be retained to deflect spray.

The material is non-contaminating and is compatible with all environments, eliminating the need to reference chemical compatibility charts and the restocking of different spray shield products. LFP Spray Shields are reusable and can be used in a temperature range of -100°F (-73°C) to 500°F (260°C).

A PTFE cord is used as a drawstring to easily secure the spray shield around the flange. Available in any dimension to suit an application, LFP Spray Shields can be customized further with drainage nipples and labeling.
