Tyco Announces New Combustible Concealed Fire Suppression Sprinklers



New Model CC3 Sprinklers Provide Additional Depth to NFPA 13 Category Builds



LANSDALE, Pa., USA – Tyco Fire Protection Products, a division of Tyco (NYSE: TYC) and a global leader in fire suppression technologies, recently announced two new fire sprinklers for use in horizontal combustible concealed spaces: the Model CC3 Combustible Concealed Space Sprinklers, available in 4.2 and 5.6 K-Factor listings (Model CC3 Sprinklers).



The Model CC3 Sprinklers are the newest addition to Tyco’s growing fire suppression portfolio. Both are specific application sprinklers listed with Underwriters Laboratories, providing installers with the dependability they’re familiar with from Tyco.



“These new fire sprinklers were manufactured to be the best available on the market today,” said Luke Connery, Global Product Manager-Commercial Sprinklers at Tyco Fire Protection Products. “They’re designed to be used with steel or CPVC piping in combustible concealed spaces up to 60 inches deep. Manufactured with a temperature rating of 200 degrees Fahrenheit, the Model CC3 Sprinklers are quick response sprinklers designed to provide protection of light hazard combustible concealed spaces, as required by NFPA 13. The sprinklers are intended for installation with BlazeMaster® CPVC wet pipe systems as well as  with steel wet pipe or dry pipe sprinkler systems; under the following specifications:



• 4.2 K-Factor:

- 14-foot maximum distance between sprinklers

- Up to 196 ft2 maximum coverage area

• 5.6 K-Factor:

- 16-foot maximum distance between sprinklers

- Up to 256 ft2 maximum coverage area

• Installation by construction type:

- 6-inch minimum height between solid joists; composite wood joists; or top and bottom chords of wood truss construction.

- 60-inch maximum height between solid or composite wood joists

•Â 84 inch maximum height  from ceiling to deck

- 60-inch maximum height for wood truss and bar joist from ceiling to deck



Tyco’s CC1 and CC2 sprinklers will continue to be available, with CC3 sprinklers starting to be offered by mid-December 2014.
