Original Press Release:

Fire Rated Reels Refined for Remote and Emergency Services

Australia’s hose and cord reel specialist ReCoila has perfected its design in a fire-rated reel for fire and emergency services.

This unit has been refined with an electromechanical clutch and speed reducer for greater performance in such a demanding field.

It is coloured in a highly visible red in keeping with common practice for equipment used in fire fighting duties.

With free spooling with extremely low spool torque, this system has rewind speeds between 0.2m/s - 0.4m/s based on the 60m x 25mm spool capacity

Because of its electrically operated drive clutch, no cables or lever system are required to be part of the design.

The unit has stainless steel fasteners, a stainless steel main axel and a full flow 1-1/2” fluid path.

Other main technical features include a heavy duty positive pin lock spool lock, direct drive spur gear and ring gear (no chain and sprockets to contend with), ball bearing main bearings and stainless steel four way rollers

An auxiliary bevel crank can be engaged when needed and disengaged when not in use. There is also an adjustable independent friction brake.

High torque 500rpm explosion proof motors are standard, there is an open bolt -together spool design for air flow and corrosion resistance, and all units are fabricated and welded heavy duty bolt-together frame.

Rewind speeds have been designed to maintain acceptable and controlled rewinding of the hose while maintaining sufficient torque to rewind a fully charged hose.

ReCoila T Series reels are available with 12-24 VDC rewind motors, 110-240 VAC rewind motors, hydraulic rewind, pneumatic rewind, reduction drive bevel crank and hand crank options.
