Pottorff Announces New FEMA-Rated Aluminum Grille for Storm Shelters and Safe Rooms



Fort Worth, TX – Pottorff has introduced its new 5-1/2 inch aluminum grille for buildings needing protection against violent weather such as hurricanes and tornadoes. The XAV-545 is FEMA 320 or FEMA 361 rated for storm shelters and save rooms. It is AMCA certified and can withstand design loads of 300 psf produced by extreme wind phenomena. The XAV-545 has a free area of 49%.



The XAV-545 aluminum grille has been tested with impacts of 15 lb.- 2x4’s, traveling at 100 mph as per ICC 500.  The makes the grille compliant for wind borne debris in all regions of the United States.
