Penta Adlink Technology's Medical Panel-PC MLC 4-21 Featuring Latest Intel® Core(TM) Processors
Lighter, flatter and faster
Puchheim, Germany — Penta Adlink Technology’s new Medical Panel-PC MLC 4-21 being premiered at the Medica 2014 (hall 10, stand F59), are setting a new benchmark in the field of completely hygienic medical PCs with all-round IP65-protection. The 21.5 inch panel PCs from Europe’s market leader in complete medical systems weighs less that 10 kilograms and can be mounted onto conventional ceiling supply systems with no need for any special mounting kit. At a depth of just 77 mm, the PCs have been constructed much flatter, delivering superior ergonomics over previous systems. The performance of the EN60601-1- and EN60601-1-2-compliant medical panel PCs has been increased significantly in comparison to its predecessors. Thanks to the systems’ excellent graphic capabilities, three independent high resolution screens can be controlled, so that users benefit from increased performance at lower overall systems costs.
Due to the new medical PCs’ robust construction and passive cooling (free of fans, cooling slots or any type of cooling fins), a high level of fail-safe operation is ensured enabling reliable, error-free and long-term deployment even under the most critical environmental conditions. Application areas can be found in Point of Care scenarios, e.g. in operating and emergency rooms, intensive care and quarantine stations as well as in clean rooms and patient-near laboratory diagnostics. Further to this, as a service, Penta Adlink integrates their medical PCs into OEMs’ medical solutions. Thanks to the IP65 protection, the systems are completely dust-proof and protected from water jets from any given angle. The systems come with a toughened glass front which can be disinfected with any cleaning agents common to the medical area and epidemic control, so that when appropriate cleaning methods are applied, even multi-resistant hospital germs and other dangerous viruses have no chance of survival.
Providing the high graphic and computing performance in the Penta Medical Panel-PC MLC 4-21 are the latest fourth generation Intel® Core™ i5 and i7 processors with quadcore technology. With up to 16 gigabytes of memory, the panel PCs can operate multiple programmes simultaneously with no compromise in performance. The 21.5 inch display delivers full HD resolution with 1920 x 1080 pixels. In especially demanding visualization tasks an optional ultra-high resolution 4K display (3840 x 2160) is available which depicts even the tiniest structures. The anti-glare coating takes care of optimal readability without distracting reflections, even in direct light, for example from operating room lights.
Intuitive operation, even with surgical gloves, is made possible by the optional multi-touch screen and a medical keyboard and mouse are also available. Further to this, the modular systems integrate numerous interfaces such as 2x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0 and galvanically isolated RS232 for connecting additional input or reading devices and scanners. The PCs can also be equipped with WiFi, Bluetooth and RFID readers. Correct mounting and fixation according to medical technology guidelines is ensured by the VESA 100 standard.
The Medical Panel PCs MLC 4-21 from Penta Adlink Technology are available now and for at least five years in identical system configuration and offer support for Windows 7, Windows 8 and 8.1 as well as customer-definable embedded Linux distributions.
