New Digium D45 IP Phone Offers Gigabit Networking for Entry-Level Market

Designed Specifically for Asterisk and Switchvox; Offers Ease of Deployment, Integrated Applications and Unique Customization Options

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Digium®, Inc., the Asterisk® Company, today announced the addition of the new Gigabit-capable D45 to its family of IP Phones. Digium phones are the only IP handsets that are specifically engineered to fully leverage the power of Asterisk, the world's most widely adopted open source communications software, and Switchvox, Digium's award-winning Unified Communications (UC) system. Digium's D40, D50 and D70 VoIP telephones have shown rapid growth since their introduction. The addition of the D45 expands the range of options for businesses of all sizes by offering a full-featured SIP phone with a dual-port, 1000 Mbps switch at an economical price.

"The D45 IP phone meets the demands of today's intense network requirements," said Mark Amick, director of product management for Digium. "Modern phones need to be able to do more than simply make phone calls. The D45 delivers with easy auto-provisioning, advanced user phone apps, and GigE capability, all at a compelling price point."

Digium phones are the only phones tightly integrated with Asterisk, and Asterisk-based phone systems like Switchvox. No other phones on the market offer the advanced Digium feature set. In addition to plug-and-play deployment, all models of D-series IP phones include the Digium Phone App Engine which allows the phones to run built-in and custom designed JavaScript applications to enhance user productivity. Apps like interactive voicemail, visual call parking, one-touch call recording, searchable contact directory and presence management take advantage of the unique rich data connection between Digium phones and Asterisk.

Digium will demonstrate the unique abilities of Digium phones coupled with Asterisk during an upcoming webinar on March 27.

"Our users love the high quality and intuitive interface of the Digium phones. The built-in applications help users get more done in less time," said Jim Watt, CEO of Dynamic Solutions Group, Inc.
