Electronics Enclosures for Rugged Applications: Environmental Case System (ECS) Protects Against Extreme Elements
Phoenix Contact's newest enclosure system protects electronics from potentially damaging elements commonly found in outdoor applications and extreme indoor environments. The two-piece, sealed environmental case system creates IP66, IP67, and NEMA 6 ratings with a latch or screw-locking method.
The enclosure has integrated connection options with one or two M12 inserts, as well as an option for a cable gland. Alternatively, a blank faceplate can be modified to accommodate any sealed connector that fits within the housing profile. The polycarbonate (PC) enclosure withstands rapid temperature swings, UV exposure, and extreme temperatures of -40°C to +85°C. The integrated connection technology simplifies packaging devices intended for control on vehicles, rugged industrial wireless applications, and even small cell installations.
The ECS also offers a PCB lock which prevents falls and allows for easy maintenance. Using an accessory, the ECS can be readily mounted to a pole or a wall without compromising its ease of PCB repair or replacement.
