George Fischer Offers Industry-First ElectroFusion Joining Machine Utilizing Bar Code Technology to Reduce Installation Time and Costs

TUSTIN, Calif. - Oct. 26, 2001 - George Fischer, Inc. introduces the MSA 250SE Electrofusion Joining Machine featuring a unique bar code system and multiple joint fusion technology to reduce installation time and costs. The new machine was designed to maximize electrofusion joining of George Fischer's Fuseal II, Fuseal Squared and PPro-Seal Piping Systems.

Offering the most advanced fusion technology in the industry, the MSA 250SE utilizes a bar code system with fusion parameters preprogrammed into the machine, eliminating time-consuming manual data entry and saving valuable installer time. Utilizing the machine's special wand, the installer simply scans the specific bar code for fusion. If there is a future need for parameter change, George Fischer sends new bar code sheets containing the new parameters to the owner without requiring the machine to be returned, providing uninterrupted installation. For operator-use versatility, the system can also be manually operated.

Further installation time savings are provided via the machine's capability to fuse up to four joints at one time. Additionally, unlike any other joining machines on the market, the MSA 250SE allows multiple fusions to be completed 1000/% independently, without affecting any other fusion joints.

"The system's bar code scanning capability offers installers the easiest and most accurate fusion technology available," said Aydin Erturk, George Fischer Product Manager of Specifiables. 'This feature, combined with its ability to fuse multiple joints, provides unprecedented labor savings."

The MSA 250SE can operate from on-site or generator power minimizing concerns for power source selection. The compact MSA 250SE includes long cables to accommodate high ceiling piping installations and weighs only 24 pounds (11.5 kilograms including cables. The George Fischer, Inc. product offering includes a full range of plastic pipe, fittings, valves, actuators, rotameters, fusion machines, secondary containment, tank linings, heat exchangers, custom products, and sensors and instrumentation for industrial process control.
