NKK Switches' Washable Miniature Series M Switches Suit Various Industry Applications
Numerous circuit, terminal, and actuator types add versatility
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Jan. 9, 2001) - Continuing to lead the industry with innovation, superior design and customer service, NKK Switches and its authorized network of North and South American distributors now offer process compatible versions of the widely recognized and specified Series M family of PCB mounted toggle, rocker and pushbutton switches.
M2T toggles and rockers, along with M2B pushbuttons, feature an interior bushing area sealed with an o-ring surrounding the actuator. The ultrasonic welding of the bushing and housing unit seals out contaminants and saves time and money in wave soldering and washing. The single unit construction of the bushing and top of the housing gives added protection from washing fluids and other liquids. The terminals are epoxy sealed to lock out contaminants such as flux and solvents.
Anti-jamming features of the M2T and M2B ensure long life and high reliability operation by protecting the switch contact mechanism from damage due to unusual actuator force. All bracketed models have crimped legs that ensure secure PCB mounting and prevent dislodging during automated processes. The snap-acting contact mechanism gives the M2B positive actuation, light touch, smooth feel and audible feedback, as well as an electrical life rating of 25,000 operations minimum for silver contacts and 100,000 operations minimum for gold contacts.
All models can be specified single or double pole and are available in a variety of double throw circuit configurations including momentary and alternate action. The numerous circuit, terminal, and actuator types, styles and colors make the M2T and M2B series of toggles, rockers and pushbuttons suitable for applications in all industries.
All models are UL Recognized and CSA Certified. The flammability rating is UL94V-0. M2T toggles and rockers are available with ratings of 6A @ 125V AC, 3A @ 250V AC, 4A @ 30V DC, 3A @ 30V DC and 0.4VA maximum @ 28V AC/DC maximum. M2B pushbuttons can be specified with ratings of 1A @ 125V AC, 1A c 30V DC or 0.4VA maximum @ 28 AC/DC maximum.
The mechanical life for toggles and rockers is 100,000 operations minimum, while pushbuttons have a mechanical life of 200,000 operations minimum. The operating temperature range for all models is -300C to +850C (-22°F to +1850F).
