Original Press Release:

Hardness and Flaw Detectors are Fast, Accurate and Easy to Use

Houston, Texas. Uson L.P. has announced the addition of the InSite-HT multichannel component hardness tester, part of the Zetec series of eddy current testers for effectively verifying hardness of metal parts and detecting flaws such as cracks or defective threads in automotive and industrial applications.

This advanced multi-frequency tester's high sample rates allow rapid non-destructive testing, even at production line speeds, with an accuracy meeting or exceeding traditional test methods, but without damage to parts or lengthy preparation.

It is simple to set up, with easy-to-use controls and a clear concise menu-driven display that guides users quickly through the programming stage. The InSite-HT is ready straight out of the box for basic bench-top or complex multi-station inline inspection that confirms correct component structure.

Advanced features include built-in language selection, network adapter and automatic voltage switching. Integral I/O capability enables the InSite-HT to communicate with material handling systems and PLCs to control markers, reject sorters and other devices. It is offered in 2, 4 and 8 coil versions.

Uson Zetec eddy current testers and probes are configurable for in-line testing of a huge variety of metal components such as gears, axles, bearings and castings, engine sub-assemblies, pistons, fuel systems, wheel hubs and brake parts. They are invaluable in the identification of defects in manufactured parts.

The InSite-HT has one "tolerance zone" for signals on each test channel and up to 64 alarm channels can be active. It has 32MB of RAM (buffer) memory for eddy current data, data review, signal measurement and mix setups, with 100 test setups saved or recalled in flash memory.

The 8.4in 640 x 480 pixel active matrix color display offers the same resolution as a computer monitor. Internal buffering in the printer interface for screen captures allows several screens to be queued.
