Enhanced Pre-Trimmed Model DPV-1 Dry Pipe Valves from Tyco

IMPROVED OFFERING LOWERS INSTALLATION TIME, CUTS LABOR COSTS, REDUCES RISK

LANSDALE, PA, USA. – Tyco Fire Protection Products (TYCO), a global leader in fire suppression technologies, is now offering improved pre-trimmed Model DPV-1 Dry Pipe Valves for customers looking to reduce installation time, cost, and risk.

One of the most commonly employed valves in dry pipe fire protection systems, the Model DPV-1 Dry Pipe Valve from TYCO is factory-assembled, trimmed, and tested before shipping to the customer. The recent addition of a butterfly valve, pressure switches, and gauges to the trim offers contractors a complete “plug play” valve, ready for installation. Optional accelerators can also be incorporated into the design of the pre-trimmed Model DPV-1 Dry Pipe Valves.

By ordering pre-trimmed Model DPV-1 valves, contractors can potentially reduce installation risk and complexity for themselves, and the end users responsible for maintaining their fire suppression system.

“As contractors and installers look to reduce costs while combating ever-decreasing margins, TYCO is offering installers more options and a new solution,” said Marco Noordman, Senior Product Manager - Valves and Watermist, Tyco Fire Protection Products. “While TYCO will continue to offer the Model DPV-1 valve and loose trim, we believe installers will realize this pre-trimmed valve enhances field productivity while helping to offset true installation costs.”

Among its features, the Model DPV-1 valve is pressure rated at 250 psi, includes an external reset, and employs a unique offset single-clapper design that allows for a compact valve and a minimization in installation labor. Additionally, ductile iron construction ensures the Model DPV-1 valve is lightweight, which cuts down on shipping costs.

“Demand for the Model DPV-1 Dry Pipe Valve has seen an increase, this demand is only expected to rise with the availability of the pre-trimmed valve,” Noordman said. “Because of the increase in demand, TYCO has taken steps meet the industry demand for this valuable valve product moving forward.”
