New High-Pressure Benchtop Dispensing System Applies Silicones, Thick Fluids Through Small-Gauge Needles

East Providence, RI USA - EFD has introduced a new dispensing system that makes it easy for workers to apply precise amounts of thick assembly fluids like RTV silicones and epoxies through dispensing needles as small as 0.004" in diameter.

The new system offers a productive, ergonomic alternative to hand syringes and other manual applicators that require tremendous effort to push thick materials through small gauge needles. By using controlled air pressure instead of manual pressure to dispense material, it reduces repetitive stress injuries and helps workers achieve more consistent results in less time.

The compact benchtop system combines EFD's 2400 Dispensing Workstation and HP7x high-pressure dispensing tool.

The 2400 Workstation operates on compressed air and electricity, and uses controlled air pressure and a precision timer to dispense accurate, consistent amounts of virtually any assembly fluid. Digital display of all settings improves process control, while the unique vertical design has a footprint 60% smaller than traditional dispensers.

The HP7x is a handheld tool that contains a disposable syringe barrel inside a pen-like handle. When it is connected to the 100 psi Workstation, the HP7x increases dispensing pressure by a 7-to-1 ratio. This allows up to 700 psi (48.2 bar) of pressure to be applied to the material in the syringe. To dispense the correct amount every time without strain or guesswork, the operator simply places the dispensing needle in position and presses an electric foot pedal.
