Benz Rheometer Simplifies Creation Of Data Analysis Reports

PROVIDENCE, RI, February, 2002 - The Benz ODR2100 oscillating disk-cure rheometer tests elastomeric materials for viscosity, cure characteristics and temperature at various points in the cure cycle.

The Benz ODR Rheometer has exceptionally fast, comprehensive, user friendly software that reduces employee training time and automates testing.

This tester uses Windows-native software that is designed for step-by-step operation. Test parameters can be created easily or simply recalled from previous tests. The load-and-go functionality of the software allows the user to set up the first test and then continue testing without further computer interaction. Comparisons of previous tests are generated once the second test is completed and are continuously updated in each successive test.

The Benz ODR Rheometer meets or exceeds ASTM D-2084 and ISO-3417 standards as well as other national and international standards. It uses P.I.D. controllers to measure a temperature range of 35°-205°C and has an accuracy rate of ±0.1°C. Motor speed is 100 rpm, with a maximum torque of 200 in.-lb. (22.6 N/M). Degree of arc is 1, 3, and 5. It is controlled by an IBM-compatible, universal computer system.

Gate parameters can be input or automatically calculated based upon previous test runs. They can be set for all data points. Any point out of parameter is noted on the test and marked on a test report which includes cure curve and torque/time data for all selected points.

The Benz ODR Rheometer requires only a small footprint, only 21 x 21 inches of counter space. Its compact frame weighs 195 lbs. The machine is low-maintenance; control boxes are easily removable for servicing. It has a lightweight, aluminum test frame that is built to last in rugged work environments.

It carries an extensive one-year parts and labor warranty. The machine costs less than $25,000 and is available directly from the manufacturer, Benz Materials Testing Instruments, 73 Maplehurst Ave., Providence, Rhode Island 02908.
