New Line of Affordable Diode-Pumped Lasers Offers Flexibility & Reliability
January 8, 2002, Barrington, NJ - Edmund Industrial Optics (EO) of Barrington, New Jersey has announced the release of a new line of Diode-Pumped Solid State Lasers. Available in 4 different wavelengths, these new lasers feature a combination of excellent beam characteristics such as high mode purity and low beam divergence, making them suitable for beam focusing as
well as for long distance beam positioning.
Visible
The 3 different wavelengths in the Visible series - 405nm (Violet), 475nm (Blue) and 532nm (Bright Green) - offer a simple, low cost design that is well suited to numerous
applications including: spectroscopy, holography, wafer inspection, micro-material processing, particle counting, signal processing, metrology, interferometry, printing, medical applications, photoluminescence, pointing and alignment.
Near-IR
Nd:YVO4 lasers operating at a wavelength of 1064nm are well suited for a wide range of applications including: optical trapping, wafer inspection, material processing, particle counting, metrology, printing, medical applications, illumination, pointing and photoluminescence. Previously, this type of laser was only available to laser and instrument manufacturers as OEM components. However, recent technological advances have made them more affordable.
Additional features on all of these new diode-pumped solid state lasers include:
* Typical lifetimes of 10,000 hours
* Beam attenuator (shutter)
* Heavy duty, 6 ft. coaxial cable terminated with a 9-pin D-connector
* Power supply with all applicable CDRH safety features including an emission indicator, keylock switch and remote connector
