Wieland Launches Free Rail Assembly Software

Providing a convenient solution for DIN rail design and assembly, Wieland Electric Inc. has introduced its Wieplan rail assembly software. The free program utilizes CAD tools specifically designed for the selection and placement of insulation displacement contact (IDC) and screw clamp terminal blocks and accessories to create a custom rail assembly. "Using Wieplan's superior visual CAD presentation, the design engineer can quickly fulfill the space and technical requirements of a custom rail assembly with just a few clicks," said Wieland Product Manager, Dean Norton. "Product features and part numbers are easy to find with the menu bar, and the Wieplan program monitors rail length and specifications to ensure that the assembly can be built as specified." The program allows design engineers to choose the type, height and material of the DIN mounting rail, type of endclamps, terminal block type and features, current ratings and certifications, marking tags and jumpers. Each selection is indicated visually on the rail by a user-friendly CAD drawing that may be saved and modified at any time. The final rail design includes a building material list with part numbers and drawing data that may be printed out or sent electronically to Wieland for assembly. Wieland Electric Inc. is a leading international manufacturer of PC board and DIN rail terminal blocks, wire management products, Multipole (rectangular) connectors, electronic interface modules and remote 1/0 communications systems based in Burgaw, N.C.
