Enhanced Digital Dailies Video Solution Unveiled at NAB

LAS VEGAS, NV (April 19, 2004) - Ideal for time-conscious producers and photography directors, Globalstor Data Corporation unveiled the new TransPro-DVS Digital Video Solution to NAB attendees today. The TransPro-DVS creates high quality, on-demand, set top box-compatible DVDs for a broad range of digital video applications in the broadcast and video industries. Like its predecessor, the award-winning Trans-Pro II, the TransPro-DVS offers numerous I/O options, broad network connectivity, and extensive menu customization possibilities. In addition, TransPro-DVS enables users to create a wide range of video streaming files including AVI, MPEG2, QuickTime and Windows Media 9 without forgoing security concerns with features such as character generation, encryption for Windows Media 9 files, and text and graphic overlays.

TransPro-DVS an invaluable tool for demanding projects such as video streaming production, or as part of a Digital Asset Management (DAM) solution creating reliable, inexpensive, long-term video archival. Daily takes or rough cuts, whether as captured files or real-time video recordings sourced from video decks or camcorders (analog or digital), can be easily burned to industry standard, DVD-R media, saving valuable video production time and money.

"A standard DVD-R can store between one and two hours of DVD-quality video (constant bit rate) or two to six hours of VHS-quality (variable bit rate)," said Scott Leif, President of Globalstor Data Corp. "With the TransPro-DVS, editors can create accessible multi-disc projects on-the-fly, freely rearrange content and insert up to 99 separate, customized video segments, titles or even chapter menus with thumbnails for easy retrieval later by the reviewer."

Unmatched for ease of use, the TransPro-DVS utilizes Edit Decision Lists (EDL) such as ALE, Flex and FTL files for automated deck control as well as automatic menu and chapter point creation for easy navigation and fast access to the video content. For content that is not accompanied by and EDL, an EDL generator creates the chapter name and placement template and embedded time codes automatically synchronize the digital file during playback to a deck, editing system, etc. Other forms of EDL files can also be supported by adding additional plug-ins. Using inexpensive, convenient, DVD-R discs, video professionals have immediate, random access to the day's shoot, making dailies production faster, easier and more budget-friendly than traditional dailies. The high quality image and sound files can be reviewed using any standard DVD-enabled desktop computer; notebook or DVD-R compatible set top box.

NTSC and PAL compatible, the TransPro-DVS features a 120GB hard drive, an 8x DVD recorder, is configured with a Pentium 4 and 512MB RAM running Windows 2000 Pro and has a second 5.25-inch bay, which can be used to incorporate a removable hard drive or an additional DVD writer. The TransPro-DVS also includes a 17" LCD/flat panel monitor (touch screen optional) with a matching keyboard and mouse.

Globalstor Data's TransPro-DVS will be demonstrated at Globalstor's hospitality suite in the Las Vegas Hilton #4103 during NAB April 19th through 22th, 2004, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
