Mitsubishi's New EA28V Sinker EDM Provides Compact Footprint and Simplified Maintenance

Wood Dale, IL - Mitsubishi EDM introduces its newest die-sinking EDM, the EA28V. The EA28V's new FP120V power supply takes performance to the next level while enhancing accuracy and productivity. The machine's space-saving design reduces the required floor space and simplifies the maintenance layout.

The EA28V's new three-sided drop tank design provides many additional benefits. The fast fill/drain system keeps the tank height and fluid levels constant. The new drive system makes tank operation easier and quicker. Programmable fluid circulation can be used at zero tank height for improved thermal stability during job setup and removal.

A new, easy-access, triple-filter system is now located at the back of the machine, requiring less floor space. Its configuration allows for each filter to be changed without interruption to the machining process. Two pumps are provided to maintain rapid tank fill and proper work-tank circulation.

The heat shielding cabin structure and new thermal displacement compensation features enhance accuracy by suppressing the thermal displacement caused by changes in the ambient temperature. Another feature contributing to higher accuracy is the multi-position work tank that allows the operator to set-up while circulating the dielectric fluid. Finally, the fully closed loop feedback system with 4 millionths linear scales improve total-machining accuracy.

The EA28V is automation ready - Compatible with an external setup procedure using a 3D measuring instrument. This reduces setup time and dramatically improves the machine's operation rate.
