BUFFALO, N.Y., USA - Eastman Machine Company, manufacturer of cutting machines, automated cutting systems, material handling equipment, and software solutions announces the release of LeatherPRO™, its latest equipment option suitable for use with both the conveyor and static cutting systems, and its line of manual cutting machines. The LeatherPRO system is applicable for customers working with leather, where detection of flaws in the hide is required.
Eastman’s LeatherPRO offers digital defect marking and allows up to two operators to simultaneously mark imperfections on the hide. This innovation allows the marking of defects on an entire hide in approximately 2.5 minutes. The LeatherPRO system was engineered to handle up to 6 different defect types and 6 different pattern quality zone types, so even the most demanding quality standards can be maintained.
Defects are marked with projected virtual lines using a light pen, therefore eliminating messy chalk and tape residue on the material. Increased yields are accomplished through a digital hide database, advanced sorting algorithms and the ability to nest for long periods of time. Nesting may be accomplished offline or at the cutting system.
