DC-DC Converters operate from -40 to +105°C.

Press Release Summary:

Providing unregulated output in industry-standard SIP-7 package measuring 0.76 x 0.24 x 0.39 in., ITA and ITB Series feature 1,500 Vdc input/output isolation, while ITV Series boasts 3,000 Vdc isolation. Natural convection cooled 1 W units offer power density of 14 W/in.³ and deliver full output power to +95°C. ITB Series provides single outputs of 5, 12, and 15 V, while ITA Series delivers dual outputs of ±5, ±12, and ±15 V. ITV Series comprises both single and dual output models.

Original Press Release:

XP Power's Latest 1W DC-DC Converters Offer a Wider Temperature Range and Increased Isolation

XP Power today announced three SIP packaged 1 Watt DC-DC converters with both single and dual output models.  Aimed at applications requiring a high performance DC-DC converter, the products feature industry standard pinouts and offer an increased efficiency, higher isolation, and a wider operating temperature range than previous products.

The ITA, ITB and ITV series converters provide an unregulated output in a small, industry standard, plastic cased SIP-7 package, allowing drop in replacement capability for improved performance without redesign.  ITA and ITB series converters feature 1,500VDC input / output isolation, with the ITV boasting an isolation of 3,000VDC.

With their small size, the most important application areas for the converters are in mobile, portable and wireless products or indeed when isolation or DC-DC voltage conversion is needed in any product. Such products are used in automation and process control, broadcast, fixed telecom, instrumentation, networking/datacom/computing, mobile comms and transport industries.

Measuring in at a small 0.76 x 0.24 x 0.39 inches (19.5 x 6.0 x 10.0 mm) the converters offer a good power density of 14 Watts per cubic inch. They take up less PCB space allowing designers more room to add extra features, alternatively they can reduce the overall size of the end product.

Raising the bar, the natural convection cooled converters offer an extended operating temperature range of -40 to +105 degrees C, providing full output power to +95 degrees C and offer considerable advantages over many competitor models that only operate up to +85 degrees C.

An improved efficiency figure of 80% is well suited to modern, ‘green standard’ end products, meaning a reduction in waste heat and no need for a heatsink.  Exhibiting versatility, three input voltage ranges of 5, 12, and 24 VDC are available in each series, and a +/-10% input range capability covers nominal 5,12 and 24VDC applications.

The ITB series has single outputs of 5V, 12V and 15V.  ITA has +/-5V, +/-12V and +/-15V duals output models, while ITV comprises both single and dual output models.  The converters meet Class B EMI standards with the addition of a small two component input filter.

Employing the latest technology, XP Power’s ITA, ITB and ITV DC-DC converters are next generation, unregulated 1W converters with a SIP-7 footprint.  They have high efficiency, increased isolation, and an extended operating temperature range in an industry standard SIP package.

The ITA series is priced at $3.39 for 500 pcs orders and are available from Newark. Digi-Key, or direct from XP Power and come with a 3 year warranty.
