DC-DC Converters offer wide temperature operation.

Press Release Summary:

Single-output, surface-mount NTE Converters are 1W devices that operate across industrial temperature range (-40 to 85°C) without external cooling. They feature 3V input and single, isolated output of 3.3 or 5V. Units have input-to-output isolation of lkVDC and are based on SMD construction that incorporates multi-layer capacitors and toroidal magnetics. Converters are packaged in UL 94V-0 material and employ lead-frame technology.

Miniature, Surface Mount DC-DC Converters Bring Wide-Temperature Operation To Low-Voltage Industrial Power Schemes

C&D Technologies (NCL) has expanded its family of miniature,
single-output surface-mount DC-DC converters with the launch of
low-voltage, 1W devices that offer long-life, full specification
performance across the industrial temperature range without
external cooling.

Suited to providing localized, spot power in low-voltage, space-
limited industrial power schemes, the new 3V input NTE converters feature a single, isolated output of 3.3 or 5V and have a board-mounting footprint of just 1.64cm2 (0.25inches2). The devices have MTTF ratings of up to 2.9 million hours and can help designers to significantly simplify their distributed power schemes by delivering full load performance from -40 to 85°C without a heatsink.

The C&D Technologies (NCL) low-voltage NTE DC-DC converters have an input-to-output isolation of lkVDC and are based on an SMD construction that incorporates multi-layer capacitors for optimum reliability and toroidal magnetics for minimum noise emissions.

Converters in the NTE series are packaged in UL 94V-0 material and employ lead-frame technology and transfer molding techniques to provide all of the design and manufacturing benefits associated with IC-style packaging. In particular, full compliance with the CECC00802 standard for reflow soldering at 280°C and pin co-planarity in line with the IEC 191-6:1990 IC standard allows the converters to be treated as conventional ICs during assembly, eliminating the need for separate, manual and low-temperature mounting processes.

The new low-voltage converters can be supplied in tape-and-reel packaging with unit pricing for OEM quantities of under $5.31. In addition to the standard devices C&D Technologies (NCL) can design and manufacture custom parts based on its NTE lead frame and transfer molding technologies.
