Data Center Modules scale to suit end-user requirements.

Press Release Summary:

Negating use of crane via manual, on-site assembly with hand tools, T4 Modular Data Centre Pods can be deployed in areas from underground car parks and hangars to warehouses and roofs. Although 30- to 50-rack pods are typical, any size is possible to allow for growth as needed via expansion. Various rack options, cable raceways, and free form pockets are available, and non-combustible materials are used throughout. Pods can be configured with Tier 3 to Tier 4 resilience as standard.

Original Press Release:

Pay as You Grow with Cannon Technologies' T4 Modular Data Centre Pods

Cannon Technologies, the international leader in innovative containment systems, has announced the latest addition to its industry leading range of flexible data centre solutions – T4 Modular Data Centre Pods. The company’s unique true modular approach means that customers are now able to reduce up front investment by up to 50 per cent and simply ‘pay as they grow’.

T4 Modular Data Centre Pods can be deployed almost anywhere, from underground car parks and hangars to warehouses and even roofs. Scaled to suit almost any requirement, even in the most difficult to access and extreme environments, the use of cutting edge technology, standard components and no wet trades means they can be manually assembled on-site using hand tools, negating the use of a crane and vastly reducing dust, noise and disruption.

Designed for fast and effective commissioning, lead times are exceptionally short – typically just 8-12 weeks from order to delivery at the customer’s site.  Although 30 to 50 rack T4 Modular Data Centre Pods are typical, any size is possible, meaning that a data centre can start small and grow cost effectively through easy expansion.

Just as importantly, efficient and compact power solutions, cutting edge infrastructure technology for optimised operation, and secure construction are all factored in for turnkey readiness. A variety of rack options are available, as are cable raceways, free form pockets to accept third party cabinets and systems, UPS, power distribution, cabling, fire suppression, CCTV, access control and active lighting. In addition, non-combustible materials are used throughout, including insulated panel cores.

Providing all of the essential elements of a modern high performance data centre, they can be configured with Tier 3 to Tier 4 resilience as standard along with a low power usage effectiveness (PUE) rating. Close coupled cooling using Cannons Technologies’ innovative Within Row Cooling (WIRC) units can combine with economic free cooling chillers to draw maximum benefit from ambient air and reduce energy consumption.

If extreme utilisation of space is desired and local power availability is adequate, the T4 Modular Data Centre Pods can be stacked two high. Amended floor plans also pose no problem, as the granularity of the components means they can be easily adapted, while obstacles such as columns can be worked around or incorporated into the overall design. Special purpose rooms for network control centres, secure entry lobby, people traps, office space and washrooms can even be factored in.

While assembling and commissioning a T4 Modular Data Centre Pod is easy, so too is returning a building to its original clear space status. Once disassembled it can be redeployed elsewhere or even sold.

‘The introduction of the T4 Modular Data Centre Pod reinforces our position as the leading manufacturer of flexible solutions for all types of situations and environments,’ commented Mark Hirst, head of T4 Data Centre Solutions at Cannon Technologies Group. ‘They enable clients to avoid significant up front expenditure by aligning investment with need and available space. This removes the financially damaging implications of expensively equipped but underutilised data centre space – a scenario which is all too common.’
