The Goodyear steam hose and Campbell crimp steam fitting have been tested with the goal of exceeding 2500 psi at 406°F and hose WP of 250 psi. at a 10 to 1 Safety Factor. The couplings and hose exceeded 23 times the WP with the hose bursting at 5925 psi. The assembly was simple and only required force over lubrication or pounding. When the pressure was raised there were no leaks or movement detected, even at 5000 psi. This concludes that the assembly combination is safe for the 250 psi steam hose. The crimped feature also proved that it does not require bolt re-tightening after each use.
