Corrosion Monitoring System suits water treatment facilities.

Press Release Summary:

CorrTran® AQUA monitors water and wastewater processes for general and localized corrosion, enabling users to determine effectiveness of corrosion inhibitors. It also enables users to detect and correct corrosion issues for preventative maintenance. When measurement cycle is complete, corrosion rate and pitting value are calculated and relayed to plant personnel as 4-20 mA HART signal. System includes main unit, 100 psi working pressure probe, 10 ft cable, and steel or copper electrodes.

CorrTran® AQUA from Pepperl+Fuchs Delivers Cost-Effective Online Corrosion Monitoring for Water and Wastewater Applications

Continuously monitors water and wastewater processes for both general and localized corrosion

TWINSBURG, OH - Pepperl+Fuchs introduces CorrTran® AQUA - a complete low-cost corrosion monitoring solution specifically designed to meet the corrosion monitoring needs of municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities. CorrTran AQUA continuously monitors water and wastewater processes for general and localized corrosion, enabling users to determine the effectiveness of their corrosion inhibitors, and to detect and correct corrosion issues through upkeep and preventative maintenance before they become a costly problem.

"While general corrosion is more common, localized corrosion, or pitting as it's commonly referred to, is more problematic and may account for up to 90% of corrosion failures. CorrTran® AQUA is capable of effectively monitoring processes over the long term, and is especially useful in identifying process upsets when they occur," says Kristen Barbour, Product Marketing Manager.

CorrTran AQUA is rooted in field-proven technology that represents a truly revolutionary approach to corrosion monitoring by taking corrosion evaluation out of the laboratory and bringing it into everyday process control. CorrTran AQUA is sold as a complete kit that includes main unit, a 100 psi working pressure probe, 10 ft. interconnect cable, and steel or copper electrodes.

CorrTran AQUA transmitters use a new algorithm of the LPR (Linear Polarization Resistance), HDA (Harmonic Distortion Analysis) and ECN (ElectroChemical Noise) measurement for maximum corrosion monitoring accuracy. They also automatically calculate and update the Stern-Geary value (B-value) due to changes in other process variables to maintain maximum accuracy. At the completion of each measurement cycle, the respective corrosion rate and pitting value is calculated and made available to the plant personnel in the form of a 4...20 mA HART signal.
