Original Press Release:

Hardy Instruments offers Embedded Webservers and Smart Diagnostics on 3000 Series Controllers

Hardy Instruments' 3000 series of function-specific controllers feature embedded webservers allowing customers a more efficient way to monitor the processes within their plant. With the use of the embedded webserver Hardy's controllers can now send email messages, giving users the ability to receive mobile notification of important events or alarms in process - anywhere, anytime. Emails can be forwarded to a PC, a pager, or a WAP-enabled cell phone. Hardy's embedded webserver is available on the Filler/Dispenser Controller, Multi-Scale Weight Controller, Hardy's new Tension Controller, and the multi-channel vibration monitor.

Email messages can be customized, providing the receiver with specific information about a process, such as physical location, product line, and other critical parameters. An operator can receive an alarm or notification indicating a specific message such as "Check for Overflow on Line #1" or "Place order for more liquid stabilizer, 100 lbs. remain."

Hardy Instruments also has a Smart Diagnostics (SD) option on its 3000 Series of application-specific process controllers. Hardy's SD is a remote system monitoring and analysis tool that utilizes a multitude of conditions and deep model knowledge to provide system reports, correction, and maintenance.

Data gathering or troubleshooting with Smart Diagnostics can be done from the security of a control room, ensuring user safety in the event of any adverse environmental condition. Critical diagnostic information can be rapidly collected to enable prompt location and resolution of problems.

Using the SD option, a plant supervisor or engineer can directly wire up to four load sensors to the controller to monitor individual weight, mV/V, and mV from the front panel display over Ethernet using a web browser or wirelessly utilizing a Palm® OS PDA. Individual sensor stability and zero testing can also be performed without connecting additional test equipment.

All of the Hardy Instruments 3000 series controllers are available with these innovative technologies:

· WAVERSAVER®, eliminates the effects of vibration providing a stable weight display.

· C2®, provides electronic calibration without the need for test weights.

· Secure Memory Module (SMM) allows manual transfer of configuration data to another instrument.

· INTEGRATED TECHNICIAN(TM) (IT) system diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques.
