Original Press Release:

iTNC 530 - The New Heidenhain Contouring Control

SCHAUMBURG, IL - (November 2001) - HEIDENHAIN CORPORATION is pleased to introduce its latest development in the TNC series of controls - the iTNC 530. The iTNC 530 pursues the already successful course set by TNC contouring controls and, thanks to its powerful new processor architecture, establishes new standards for high-speed cutting in short block processing times and optimum path control.

Like all TNCs, the iTNC 530 is compatible in its operation and programming with the predecessor models of the TNC series - an advantage that significantly contributes to the tremendous success story of the TNC contouring controls.

Whether for manufacturing single parts or in series production, for simple or complex workpieces, in tool and die making, mold work or on machining centers, the iTNC 530 with its versatility is the right control for virtually any application. For machining
complex geometries, it offers numerous field-proven fixed cycles that simplify programming. The short block processing time of 0.5 ms together with high feed rates make it possible to attain high-quality results from high speed cutting. With its digital
motor control and efficient path control, the iTNC 530 produces the programmed ideal contour on the workpiece. Programs written at remote locations containing large amounts of data can be transmitted at high transfer rates over the Fast Ethernet interface. The new editor of the iTNC 530 can handle even very long programs. Blocks can be inserted and modified in seconds.
