Original Press Release:

Acoustic Measurement Microphones

September 1, 2002, Depew, NY - The Vibration Division of PCB Piezotronics, Inc., introduces a new line of prepolarized, array, and precision condenser microphones.

Prepolarized pressure and free-field microphones are available in both 1/4" and 1/2" sizes. Prepolarized random incidence models are available in a l/2" size. PCB's prepolarized microphones operate from ICP® sensor power and are designed for use in a wide range of applications, including sound power testing, engine noise, outdoor noise monitoring, and acoustic chamber testing.

Series 130 Array Microphones will function with any ICP® sensor power supply to provide a cost-effective method for large channel count sound pressure measurements. An affordable system can be assembled using the 130 Series microphones with a multi-channel, simultaneous sound pressure data acquisition system consisting of 16 or more channels. The Series 130 Array Microphones are ideal for use with PCB's Series 440 Modular Signal Conditioning System. Typical applications include sound pressure mapping, acoustic mode analysis, near-field acoustic holography, and vibro-acoustic testing.

External free-field microphones are available in 1/2" size. These units have an exceptionally low sensitivity to severe humidity and temperature conditions. A probe style unit with a 1 mm probe tip is also available for use in small enclosures, etc.

Preamplifiers, ICP® Preamplifiers, Dual Channel Amplifiers, Calibrators, and Pistonphones complete the new PCB microphone line.
